I have a bit of experience working and studying within the community, and I've only just now come to the realisation that you can always help change the world, one small act of kindness at a time.
This is why, no matter what I end up doing for paid work, I will always have a space in my heart for a little bit of community giving. I have participated in many groups and activities, including on an individual level, for international need and the local communities in Australia. Please see further details below:

Assisting a young girl with intellectual impairment for school requirements and learning life skills.

STIR Sub-Editor for World Visions' Youth Movement Group, Vision Generation

This was a 6 month volunteer position allowing a group of chosen young writers to have the chance to express their motivations for fighting poverty to inspire other young people.
Role:
Research and write articles to educate and inspire change in the youths of Australia.

Queensland Communications Team Leader, Vision Generation

Vision Generation is the youth movement group of World Vision Australia, aiming to inspire, educate and empower young people in the fight against global poverty and injustice.
Role:
As the communications team leader, I was responsible for motivating a team of three people to monitor the Vision Generation communications through Queensland through online media outlets such as myspace and facebook, as well as planning and overseeing publicity for Vision Generation events and general interest in the group.

Multicultural Lifeskills Support Worker and Trainee, ACCES Services Inc

To provide support work to the Multicultural Lifeskills Program Manager and complete a certificate III in community services work.
